🐾 Step‑by‑Step Breakdown (Beginner‑Friendly)

  1. Start in Beast Position

    • Hands under shoulders, knees hovering just above the ground.

    • Core engaged, neutral spine, toes tucked under.

  2. Lift Opposite Hand & Foot

    • For a right side kick, lift your left foot and right hand slightly off the floor.

    • This creates space for rotation.

  3. Rotate the Torso

    • Pivot on the supporting foot and hand, allowing your hips to open toward the side you’re about to kick.

    • The body should uncoil like a coiled spring.

  4. Thread and Extend the Leg

    • Bring the lifted leg under your body and then sweep it outward to the side.

    • Extend the kicking leg so it’s straight and toes are pointed — that’s the “kick through.”

    • Simultaneously, bring the arm on the same side back and up (elbow bent, palm away from face) to help with rotation.

  5. Balance & Hold Briefly

    • Your weight is now on the supporting hand/foot while the other leg extends low and wide.

    • Eyes should follow the kicking leg direction for smoother balance.

  6. Return to Beast Position

    • Retract the kicking leg under your body and replace the lifted hand and foot back on the ground.

    • Reset and repeat on the opposite side.
