Yoga for Nervous System Grounding - Somatic Resourcing & Yoga for the Holidays

Jan 26, 2026

Description

The holidays can stir a lot — connection, joy, grief, friction, tenderness, overwhelm. This practice is here to meet all of that.

In this gentle somatic yoga flow, we work directly with the nervous system through breath, intuitive movement, shaking, spirals, and simple rhythmic patterns. Rather than trying to “fix” how you feel, we make space for what’s already here — letting sensation move, energy redistribute, and the system soften in its own time.

This is a body-led practice rooted in somatics and nervous system awareness (inspired by polyvagal principles, without needing to know the theory). We explore how regulation doesn’t come from thinking our way out — but from listening, moving, and giving the body what it needs in the moment.

Perfect if you’re feeling:

  • Overstimulated or emotionally charged

  • Depleted, numb, or disconnected

  • Activated by family dynamics or holiday stress

  • In need of grounding, softness, and space

Expect slow, non-linear movement, breath-led transitions, shaking, spirals, and moments of stillness to integrate. Come as you are. Modify freely. Let this be a practice of generosity toward yourself.
